Antifragile Zine is a youth artist collective and independent magazine run by all queer women of color and non-binary people of color. Founded in 2020 by Bay Area youth, Macey Keung and Miumi Shipon, Antifragile was born out of a pressing need for community and opportunity led by youth, for youth, especially dedicated to marginalized creatives who have felt unseen in mainstream media. At its core, Antifragile is grounded on the belief that by bringing together youth, art, and community, we can catalyze radical change.

our mission

why we exist

We, Antifragile Zine, exist because there is a lack of creative communities and opportunities led by youth, for youth, especially spaces dedicated to marginalized creatives.

We believe that by bringing together youth, art, and community, we can catalyze radical change.

what we do

We provide the opportunity for youth artists, especially those who have felt unseen in mainstream media, or those who identify as LGBT+ and women and non-binary people of color, a safe space to connect, grow, and develop their creative aspirations.

our platform

Antifragile Zine is an media platform, artist collective, and independent magazine created by and for youth artists. We exist online, in-print, and in-person, but above all — we are a COMMUNITY.

online

We platform and share the work of various artists, providing exposure on our social media/website features. We have published a variety of articles, personal essays, interviews, poetry, and other written features found here.

in-print

We create submission-based magazines and products featuring various artists. These are generally 8.5”x11” with 90+ pages, featuring art, poetry, writing, and photography by 40-70 artists globally.

in-person

We host events featuring local artists to facilitate genuine and meaningful connections, and ultimately build a creative community where youth artists can come together to work towards radical change.

Hi, we’re Macey and Miumi, co-founders of Antifragile Zine <3

We are dreamers, artists, creators, empaths, students, and fighters.

This is a haven for youth artists to feel both safe, supported, and beautiful, as well as angry, loud, and heard. This is a space for those who have felt unseen to feel seen. We see the power in liberation, and will maintain a raw, strong voice for artists while also lifting them up.
